[NSI Public Meeting] Nation, Class And Global Capitalism

Dear Comrades,

Greetings! It is 2016, the centenary year of Lenin’s booklet on Imperialism and next year,2017 it will be the centenary of October Revolution. Imperialism was there then and it is here even today. The world is a very different place from what it was a century ago. Conditions of imperialist colonialism and indigenous feudalisms under which revolutionary left became a global force seem to have receded from the world stage and capitalism reigns supreme in every nook and corner of a postcolonial world. How should one trace the trajectory of the concept of imperialism through the century after Lenin? In what ways the concept remains relevant even today and in what ways has it changed? How should one review the actual flow of world history through these years? What lessons to learn and what expectations to nurse when it comes to revolutions against capitalism – confronting it directly and under the conditions of bourgeois democracy – perhaps for the first time in entire history? What is the state of global economy and politics and on the modus operandi of imperialism today?

To mark this historic centenary of a pamphlet we, of New Socialist Initiative, are organizing a talk mentioned below. We are pleased to invite you to participate in the programme. We would be very delighted if you came and participated in the discussions.

Lal Salaam,

Subhash Gatade (NSI Convenor)
Bonojit Hussain (NSI Delhi State Convenor)
